about

I wrote this song when I was living in the YMCA on Huntington Ave. in downtown Boston. I got my first real job. I was working in an office in the financial district. Well, I wasn't really in the office. The office had windows. I was in the mail room. The mail room had no windows.
There was really nothing to do at this job. The company had moved to a new location and there were only a few stragglers left there who rarely bothered us. Mostly I smoked cigarettes outside and played Sim City.
It was post 9/11 America and the bullshit was just oozing out of everything, everywhere. This song is sort of like my fragmented mind and all of the thoughts flying through it and everything we were experiencing- and still are! I wrote this song in the YMCA where I was tortured by bed bugs and overly-religious program directors shoving Jesus in everyone's face. I guess that leads me to the next song...
